The Klutch's new dog!!!! OMG

Mama
American Staffordshire Terrier

Mama is a gorgeous, goofy, cuddly 2 year old Am Staff who loves nothing more than taking long walks (great leash manners) and then curling up for a nap at your feet. Just let her show off her ability to answer to commands (sit, down stay, leave it) and then bask in your pets, hugs and kisses, (she is an excellent pillow!) Mama is tolerant of ear cleaning, nail clipping, tooth brushing, etc. She enters her crate willingly and, with a little peanut butter and kibble, will await your return for 6 hours. She is completely house broken and loves to sleep late. Mama will welcome your friends into your home and, with her affectionate but respectful behavior, she will quickly become their friend as well. She was found abandoned after delivering a litter of puppies (who could do such a thing?) and like any dog who has experienced trauma, Mama has some challenges that she is working very hard to overcome. Some other dogs have made her a bit nervous, but with a few weeks of positive reinforcement, and some treats, she is much more comfortable around them. She has been in behavior training with a certified trainer who accessed her as follows: “She has been receiving training with positive reinforcement methods and is a fast learner but she is currently struggling with a lack of impulse control and is a dog that when over aroused and stimulated can engage in inappropriate behaviors. As a result, she should be placed in a home with an experienced owner who will be dedicated to continuing her education with positive techniques and be her leader. She should be placed in a home where she is the only pet and where there are no very young children.” She does not show any aggression, just some instances of impulse control problems and some bad manners. With the right leader, dedication, patience, and focus, there is no doubt she will be the perfect best friend!
